IDeA-CTR N3C Experience-User Perspective Event on March 28

This event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 6 p.m. EST/5 p.m. CST.
More details to be announced.

This event is hosted by the CTR National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) Investigator Navigators.

The goals of the “N3C Experience-User Perspective” event are to explain what the N3C is and why using it would benefit researchers and their work, how to access the data, and the tools available in the N3C.

The N3C Data Enclave is a secure platform through which harmonized clinical data provided by our contributing members are stored. The enclave includes demographic and clinical characteristics of patients who have been tested for or diagnosed with COVID-19, and further information about the strategies and outcomes of treatments for those suspected or confirmed to have the virus.

The Enclave currently contains EHR data for over 18 million patients, of which 7 million are confirmed COVID-19 positive. The patients are from 77 healthcare organizations across the United States. The patient information is from 2018 to the present. Public datasets from several sources including the US Census and the Social Deprivation Index are available.

The data enclave is a resource available to investigators at all CTR institutions.

Goals of this event:

  • Define N3C;
  • Describe why using N3C would benefit researchers and their work; and,
  • Explain how to access N3C data and tools.
